I had the same issue on my Iphone. The yahoo messenger app on my iphone works fine when I’m connected to Wi-Fi. But it throws unable to Login message when I’m off the Wireless and connected to the Internet on my 3G network.

After a lot of research on the Net, I finally found the root cause. By default my network provider Vodafone has barred my content Control. When they removed this barring, my Yahoo messenger App works fine anywhere.

Check if you fall into this scenario… good luck.

I am having the same problem as some of you with ihone and messenger. Just made a family account for my daughter. Her messenger works fine on computer but unable to log in on her iphone. I can log in on her iphone using my account but she can’t log into hers. Says “known error please try again”
