4. I still cant connect – same problem as before – says connecting and never does – I did try sending the problem report through the app – will this go through though as I am “not connected”???

5. Yahoo! Messenger for iphone got the Vista Graphical User Interface style I’m jealous.
   I wish we could have that for the desktop/laptop builds.

12. I’m having the same problem as some others above…It says “connecting” and never does…it worked perfectly until two days ago…until then I never had had a problem connecting to messenger…Very frustrating!

    Such a great application before!

13. first of all how come the windows interface is not as good ? and second instead of making more features how about fixing the problems in yahoo messenger the main software and the problem with the display picture not working probably or transferring files ?

15. Great App, a good bit of versatility for the first version, and I am not having problems conecting, which is awesome since I have an ipod touch, not an iphone, but I do have one major concern! The software needs to be addressed, My profile pic will not show! No avatar pic either. I will recieve pics and profiles for friends and contacts, but mine will not show in the app, or on any others’ window. Something to think about in the next update!

16. I cannot log on my app messenger for Ipod Touch or my home computer. Message says I’m logged on to another computer but I’m not. I’ve tried it on everything I’ve got and still have the problem. I’ve uninstalled and installed. I had 9 but installed 8.1.0.421 to see if 9 was the problem and I’m still having the same log in issues. I am NOT on messenger anywhere. Help please!!

19. Since my first version of iPhone messenger app I am getting the same error message “Unable to login right now, please try again later”. Is there any fix for it?

    I managed to connect very few time with the old version and with the new 1.2.1 version, only once.

20. I upgraded to the new messenger with Push Notifications but I am getting a “Sign-In Problem Invalid user ID or password. Please try again” error, even though I have verified the correct ID and password was entered properly. Please advise?

I’m ok with the connection, but I’m having a problem when I accidentally click the “reset ym” button in the settings, I lost all ym contacts. but when I logon to ym using PC the contacts are still there. I’ve tried to delete and re-install ym in my iphone but it doesn’t help. my contact is still blank. Please advice me. Thanks

24. I am having the same problems as chethan and Jacquelin… At first it said Invalid user ID or password, now it has “Unable to login right now.” This only happened after I updated the app… Help!!

25. @Julie – Only step is to uninstall the app, restart your phone, then reinstall the app from the store.

26. I have the new Yahoo IM application for iPhone and keep getting the: “Sign-In Problem
    Unable to login right now, please try again later”
    This login problem persists for days, please help! I can log into Yahoo IM on my pc, so I know it’s not a username/password error I’m making, and I log-off the pc based Yahoo IM before I log onto the iPhone app.

29. Was able to sign in 3 days ago(8/14). Since then receiving “Sign-In Problem Invalid user ID or password. Please try again”. Able to login on PC, so this is not looking like a typo on my part. v1.2 – 2nd gen iTouch v3

31. is it possible to upload a display picture from my i-phone photos gallery onto my Yahoo Messenger app? I have tried touching the “grey face” window, where I presume the picture should display, but there is no option in settings or anywhere else within the Yahoo app, to do this.

33. Hello. I have YMessenger on my iPhone and after the last update i used the “Reset Yahoo Messenger” command. Well, now i do not have any contacts left in the iPhone mess. As I know the contacts are saved on yahoo servers. When i connect from my computer on messenger i got all the contacts. So, the question is, how do i get back contacts on iPhone?

34. And the funny part is that i added on iPhone myself as new contact and when i logged in from my computer i found this contact there. So if i want to add contacts from iPhone i will double the ones i have already. And the question previously posted remains.

35. @Vlad M – There’s a bug in the latest version with the contact list temporarily disappearing for some users. Don’t worry, your contacts are all there, no need to re-add them. We’re working on a fix.

    In the meantime, one trick that was left here on the blog – After you sign in, go to Settings and toggle your offline contacts to display “ON”. Then go back to the contact list. It usually brings up the list.

36. Thank you for the info. Unfortunately it is not working on my phone. I’ll wait for the update. And another problem i think i found is that when i push the “Home” button i get out of messenger bur for my contacts i’m still logged in. Is it a bug or i have to sign out everytime?

37. @Vlad M – “when i push the “Home” button i get out of messenger but for my contacts i’m still logged in” That is not a bug, it’s the way the program is designed. We keep you signed in for up to 2 weeks (or unless you sign in from another device like your PC). We then use the iPhone’s push notifications platform to alert you to new IMs even when you’re not in the app.

    If you want to sign out of the app, you have to go to Settings and click the Sign Out button in the Yahoo! Messenger for iPhone app.

43. I have problem connecting with my username when my wife connects with her username and password it connects fine. I get error message saying incorrect username or password but I can login to web with same username and password.

    I noticed that when I connect to yahoo using safari after this allows me to connect to my yahoo messenger but otherwise it wouldn’t and it’s like an expiration time. It will stop working every few hours then I have go to login.yahoo.com, enter my password again and then it works again for sometime.

    I’m sure it has something to do with my account and not with app, because it does same thing even with normal desktop yahoo messenger.

    If this is not where I’m suppose to get support for it can you please point me right direction?

45. So is this a joke? My son can’t sign into YIM on his new iPod Touch due to the above error, and the PM suggests that we report the problem from within the app itself. Am I missing something? If we can’t log in to the app, how are we supposed to get to the settings??

47. Continue to received “error logging in please try again later”. Been two weeks now. I’m totally lost. Have D/L messenger app from I tunes 3 times. Spoke with Apple reps; they said it’s a Yahoo problem. What do I do?
