Our broadcast team did a story on a couple that met in person, and then grew their relationship online using IM and webcam.

Yahoo chat (NOT to be confused with IM) used to be a pleasurable forum to become acquainted with people, I met many very nice, fun and potential mates there.
It is now a pest and bot ridden cesspool that barely resembles what it once was. I am glad you raised this question Sarah, as it presents an opportunity to ask.. When will you clean it up and secure it?

I actually have had a long distance relationship with my bf of 4 years, we went to different schools. but we actually got to really know eachother and became friends before really though chatting. I spent so much time just getting to know him and its still great.
p.s. yahoo chat is just sick, i avoid it now to many spammers n junk

Yahoo! Chat gave me good friends, whom truned into really deep friends and them gave me my love, who now talks to me 10 hours a day on Yahoo messenger, using Yahoo mobile mesenger, yahoo texting etc, web cam, voice call etc.

I actually use ym everyday talking to friends that are in other countries and since everyone is busy with their school stuff, we use yahoo messenger to communicate with high school friends.
I agree with the yahoo chat.. i think yahoo needs to fix it since when i tried to join and after that random people started spamming my messenger with random messages and even pornographic sites.

I met my wife in a yahoo chatroom(Rom. 40’s Rm.6) and made and met some wonderful friends in there as well. Unfortunately, due to the continued deterioration of yahoo chat I no longer use it. I hope that this is an opening move on yahoo’s part to fix the problems and return yahoo chat to the great service that it used to be.

i meet the love of live who lives 110 miles away. we have im for hours and hours everyday this has let us learn more about each other and keep us in contact during those late night lonely hours. iam moving to be with her next friday. so the long drives on the weekends will be over. thanks rick

I think Yahoo Messenger is great! It makes long distance relationships easier by actually being able to see your mate… Me and my fiance have been dating for 5 years now. He’s a marine and currently stationed in Iraq. I’m a college student and 5 months pregnant with our first child. Yahoo webcam and voice calls makes it soo much easier for him to see me and check on me since he can’t be there physically. He likes seeing my growing belly!

Yahoo chat is great. I dont care about the bots, nor does the rest of the community I hang out with. I met my wife in the chatroom that we frequent, and now have a beautiful child. Matter of fact, he was born LIVE on mic!!! His first screams were heard around the world thanks to yahoo, and ALL of my friends were able to hear it. I think yahoo chat has been better in the past, but we will always have spammers, booters, and lamers. It’s just something you have to accept.

Me and my bf also met in a yahoo chatroom it was in Graveyard 4 and we have been together going on 4 years now!

Ive met a few women over the past few years and had relationships with, the one i thought was the one, and we were together for a couple of years. Yahoo changed that for the worse, creating suspision, and even lies and jealousy. Maybe we werent right for each other, maybe we were, but the internet and the chat/im services ruined it. I think I became too involved/addicted to chat and the internet! Oh well..lesson leant I spose lol
