hi, to try install the new version of YM for Vista – coz i was experiencing login to YM and sometime its takes too long and still cannot get in… and now i download the new YM for vista but – i get another error message during installation, this is the message ” Yahoo! messenger is unable to download files needed for installation – Please check firewall settings and retry installation” by the way – i check my firewall and YM is in the exception list- to make solution – i tried to disable the firewall but still i get the same message. tnx

Could you put the Games on YM for Vista too, please? I use messenger 8 because the vista one doesn’t have games and messenger 9 doesn’t work on my system..

Note that in the path above the path should be “C:\Users\username\AppData\Local”

I’ve found that to fix the “Yahoo.Messenger.YmApp has stopped working” errors on Vista, you need to carry out two steps.

1) Uninstall the messenger app using programs and features in control panel.
2) Browse to the following folder “C:\Users\\AppData\Local” and delete the “Yahoo!” folder that is in there (that the uninstall does not remove)
3) Re-install the messanger app and it should work.

…or at least it did for me.

Yahoo Messenger for Vista (beta) has been working find on my Vista x64 system until recently. I had a hardware issue that caused some system instability. During this time, YMV got into a state where it would fail to start, instead just popping up a dialog reading Yahoo.Messenger.YmApp has stopped working, Check online for a solution or Close Program.

Iv’e de-installed YMV and re-installed, but the problem persists. So now I’m not able to use YMV at all.

when i installed it … itr was all good ……till the start up of it then i got the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH … thats not cool

I am unable to install YM for Vista in vista home premium laptop. It says “This program didnt install correctlly..” then it gives me two options…”1. Reinstall the program with recommended settings ”
2. No,this program has installed correctly..”….then i just clicked the first option….and nothing appeared on the screen…..then i tried to run YM for vvista….the messenger window appeared and i gav my id amd password..then clicked “sign in”…i said…”signning in”…then…”creating messenger list”…now the problem came…

I use this install file ymsgr_vista_us_setup.exe downloaded from yahoo website……

then i checked where the problem has actually occured…in the…”problems report and solutions”..in control panel..i showed that the faullt has occured in the file…”Secure32.dll”…..so wat to do next…???

Please help me to solve this problem….
if anyone has a uncorruped setup file…pls giv me the url of that file……

Yahoo version 8 and 9 offers the ability to conference conversations but vista does not. I am also having problems with vista as my laptop has a intergrated mic and yahoo vista tells me it is not compatible or there is not a mic detected in addition to the static and non detection of people who may be using xp or 9 but do not have vista.

I love the look of messenger for vista. More color options would be nice. Also,stealth setting in 8 and 9 allow you to be visible to some friends and not to others. Vista messenger did not allow that.
