Fashionable Avatars from India

September 18, 2007 on 10:30 am | In Avatars | 15 Comments

Fashion Week blazed through New York City recently, but across the globe, India’s fashions were also on display. Yahoo! India partnered with the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW), powering the WIFW website and providing coverage of the fashion-filled extravaganza.

Apart from fashion buzz, designer and model profiles, event photos and videos, the site also featured a unique online contest, inviting users to vote for their favorite Yahoo! Fashion Avatar. Three top Indian designers – Malini Ramani, Raghvendra Rathore and Manish Arora – created their own personal version of a Yahoo! Avatar. Check out their designs and see who won.

For more India-inspired Avatar fashions, visit Yahoo! Avatars and search on “India”.

  1. Well I think India’s clothing fashions are okay, but they have horrid taste in interior decorating. They don’t choose good material for their drapery, and the interiors of their homes and businesses

  3. I think avatars are fun and creative. This is a very good idea for entertaining teenagers. I think we should focus more on advancing yahoo messenger to better every aspect of it. VoIP its still not that great yet. Although I applaud the developing team abuout making YM available inside the new Beta email, that way you don’t have to be signed in or download the messenger to chat with friends.

  4. Posts about smileys, now posts about avatars. Can we have one post, ONE, giving us a Vista status update? Please? Come on, if not Sarah then someone who is working on it. Is anyone working on it? If Yahoo have given up on the Vista client, at least a post to tell us to forget about it.

I come here to find out the status (or otherwise) of Yahoo Messenger, not random snippets of other Yahoo features.

  9. But you probably won’t be able to. It could open another door for malicious code writers etc.
