1. How come i didn’t get new emotions in my Messenger? Most of my friends got those new cool emotions but i didn’t. I thought once the final comes out, i will get them too, but now it is no longer in beta, i downloaded the final version, i still didn’t have them? so sad

14. To those waiting for the Mac version: Have you had a look at the ‘250 new features in OS X Lion website (-> http://www.apple.com/macosx/whats-new/features.html#ichat6 ), particularly at the iChat bit?

    Yahoo! Messenger connectivity is built in to iChat in OS X 10.7. Chances are that this also means the death of the YIM standalone client for OS X.

19. I installed it on Win7, and I have to say that the old interface combined with the Aero theme of the window bordering it looks really weird. YM could really use an updated/simpler design.

    Also, I really don’t like the idea of chats being archived on YM servers, which I’m not comfortable with, and made me disable archiving entirely. I wish this was an option we could control.

30. booooring…same interface…you really need to upgrade it like the mess fo vista was if you want people to use it again more…nowdays more and more people use facebook(with it;s integrated chatbox) ..i am telling it from my own experience..i don;t have a facebook account so i still use yahoo mess..but 90% of my friends dont use it because they have facebook accounts and use it;s chatbox….so from a yahoo mess fan…change the interface for the future yahoo mess 12

31. Just tried the Messenger Beta for Mac. Still makes my Macbook disconnect from the internet! Installed Messenger, 5 minutes later got a disconnect. Uninstalled Messenger, Macbook runs great. So much for Yahoo!

    The new Yahoo Messenger 11.0.0 has a very nice look to it. I’m experimenting & investigating everything within this Messenger.

    It’s disturbing that a lot of chat rooms that existed @ Yahoo Chat are no longer available such as “Rumberos de la Salsa”. This chat room brought Salsa lovers from all over the globe to share their individual passion for this genre of Latin Music aka la Musica Latina.

    It good to know that Yahoo is monitoring these chat rooms @ the moment, however more needs to be done to eliminate such things as bots, ignorance, etc. that continues to disrupt the chat rooms.

48. Still waiting to get YM fixed. YM 11 does’nt work properly with windows 7 and internet explorer 9. It constantly crashes and freezes. I hope the fix for this problem comes out this summer as promised.

56. Please please PLEASE provide a link to an older version. It’s now deteriorated to the point where I can’t get any IM boxes to work. I’ve already uninstalled and reinstalled. It’s not working. IM boxes appear blank and I can’t see the text at all!

57. They managed to piss off 3rd party providers (read YTunnelpro) enough to force them to leave. Chat rooms are inhospitable without the aid of a bot handler. Bots have taken over.

    Soon google will offer Chat through Google+ and it will be goodbye Yahoo!

60. You managed to create a similar functionality with Windows Live. Login on multiple places, archiving, etc. But I have to agree with the others. Aero borders really sucks! Downgrade capability is not also possible!! Kindly do something about these! We know you have something good on your mind releasing this version, but I prefer version 10.!!!

61. went to install it Friday night,that went well until i tried logging in,and when i finally logged in all i could see was a white screen where the name of my contacts should be,not sure if my download had gotten corrupted or what,i also was getting a dll error,i finally ended up doing a dell system restore,which wiped everything out on my computer,frustrating to say the least.

65. I downloaded yahoo messenger 11 looking for those new yahoo emoticons, the hidden ones that are in the new upgraded yahoo mail. When i downloaded the messenger however no such emoticons were there. Why are people saying they are in messenger when they are not? You should put them in the yahoo messenger emoticon list, we need new emoticons! The taskbar around the box is also bad, looks like a pop up window.

73. Untill the offline archiving is back again (i dont want my private conversations on your servers), I will use v10.

    If v10 will no longer be supported and only the online archive will remain.. we have Windows Live Messenger still can keep in contact with Yahoo! contacts and they respect my privacy!

82. Why do I have to change my Windows 7 display theme to Windows basic in order for the messenger themes to appear right? When in Windows Aero I have a blue bar around the outer edge of the messenger pane. Why is that? I shouldn’t have to have the rest of my computer look sloppy in order to make messenger look good.

84. A Mac update would be nice. Getting some of the features our Windows counterparts have, like photosharing would be a good addition. The last update that yahoo did to the chat rooms rendered Mac Messenger useless for it.

    My Video Call @ YIM 11.0.0 crashed on 1st usage.

    This situation had also occurred back @ YIM 10.

    In both cases I believe that since the “Diagnostic Logs” was enable that the Yahoo Team should have received those files informing them of the circumstances, so that their techs could investigate the issue & take whatever actions need be, such as an update, etc.

    Maybe this is a hardware/software problem on my end or what. I’m not certain.

    I’m using Logitech QuickCam Communicate MP Plus Version 12.10.1113 w/ Logitech Vid HD Version 1.8.7259

    Logitech & Creative are the best when it comes to Web Cams in my opinion.

    I’m able to use my Web cam w/o any issues arising while using the YIM 11.0.0 service when I’m in a chat room or IMing.

98. YIM 11 won’t even let me sign on – it just keeps saying that my account has been locked when I can log in perfectly fine on my blackberry. Either fix it or provide a link through which we can download version 10, I don’t care which, but you’d better do one of those, because this is ridiculous. Isn’t collecting information about other users and openly admitting that against the terms of service? 104. This sucks! It doesn’t store messages locally AT ALL! What if you can’t get online or your account gets hacked? All those messages, GONE! At least a bulk download might help, but we don’t even get that! I regret upgrading on this computer, I won’t make that mistake on my others.

107. i decided to stay with version 9, which is my second favorite version. the new one is useless because i do not use facebook or care about people’s updates. also if i had multiple messenger windows open it was a bit of a struggle to choose one.

     again, close off access to bots and third-party clients. do whatever it takes.

111. The new one is horrible. It’s like it’s still beta or something. There are lines that appear in the chat room list where peoples names are and also when I copy and paste from my bible cdrom which i’ve done for years it changes the font to a larger size and a funky light gray color. You need to revamp messenger 11 instead of releasing something beta. I went back to the latest version of messenger 10.

126. The new version is nice and the video chat options work great. However there should be an option to use the old (local) archive.
     Also, a lot more attention needs to be given to the interface. I’m not saying just to add more fat to it, but to trim it down. Make an option to remove themes completely, make themes customizable by the user. I for one don’t like the large margins, but others may like them.
     Please make the next release a “maintenance” one and make it run faster and with less resources, while providing options to remove some not-used features. Thanks!

131. Ever since the final release the emoticons don’t work. the big moving ones. the old style tiny ones do but the big ones tend to just show up blank or take 3 hours to say something

     Right now today my brothers getting like 20 messages on his Droid X from each person who IM’s from a regular messenger. Something going on nobody knows about??

159. I use(d) Yahoo for business… With all the security breeches going on lately it is idiotic to have everything on cloud servers and not give people a choice in the matter.

     My archives were also corrupted during the transfer and I lost most of my conversations or they were changed to gibberish. From what I saw, the system for navigating between conversations is slow and clunky at best.

     I’m either moving back to 10 or getting a new messenger altogether.

171. Why do I get signed off as soon as I’ve signed in when I’m using Ytunnelpro?
     Can we no longer get Ytunnel protection anymore? Yahoo what have you done again to screw up my safety when in Chat rooms or just plain on messenger..
     I hate signing in to Yahoo messenger without Ytunnel…don’t need the aggravation of all those unwanted offline messages from bots and pervs.
