Yahoo! Messenger with Voice and Video Calls comes to the iPad

Today, we’re happy to announce we’ve extended the Yahoo! Messenger experience to the iPad. Go ahead, send an instant message, text, share photos and videos, or make voice and video calls, right from your iPad.

You can communicate instantly with your friends on Yahoo! Messenger regardless of what platform or device they are using – Yahoo! Messenger is available for iOS and Android and on multiple devices including PC, mobile phone, iPod Touch, and now iPad.

  16. Yahoo chat should stop CAPTCHA verification. It was meant to stop those BOT and attract more real people. However now a days we see only BOTS in the room. Because many users dont understand how to join chat room. so they stay away from yahoo chat and go some where else. And that CAPTCHA verification never stops the BOTS. only stops real users.

    Do yahoo has any plan on this?

  17. you have to look after all us chatters,, OMG the stupid BOTS rule all rooms,, captcha is useless,,i have 200 friends on chat list,, total of 5 come to chat they all prefer Facebook. Lift your Game Yahoo!!!!

  21. This is awful. I cannot hear any ssounds in the messanger while other sounds on my computer are working just perfectly. Where to complain? When will they fix it?

    To answer your question, go to Yahoo Messenger.

    In the menu, click “Preferences.”

    Then click on “Alerts.”

    You can choose to have your sounds “on” or “off” by clicking the box or leaving it unclicked.

    Experiment with the sounds that appeal to you and choose one.

    I hope that helps you. I have a Mac and am still learning it.

    I would still like to see the Yahoo Messenger continue “Voice” and “Video” for longer than 6 hours, although it is an improvement beyond the earlier 1 and 1/2 hour duration.

    I hope that Yahoo will hear what we are all continuing to tell them, and they will do something about it.

    i really don’t know what is happenning with the yahoo messenger 11. during the first installation of this application, chatting is very smooth, but after a week up to now…. when i go for chatting, i cannot able to read my message after sending it…. the same as the reply of the recipient is blank white wall appearing only. when does the yahoo technical or admin can do resolve for this????

  25. I can call phone numbers from my desktop computer using messenger with voice. When will I be able to do the same from my ipad2?
    The ap that I downloaded does not seem to allow me to do this.

    Every few sec it says no internet connection, even when there clearly is a connection.

  46. ymessenger for ipad is very nice, thanks to yahoo… but there is one thing, which is a very big failure, you cant both video chat and type something from ipad…. when you start a call between ipad and a device, you cant type anything and cant see anything typed for you… at ymessenger 11 for pc, this not a situation you can do both, but for ipad? huge defect… i wish ymess for ipad will be updated as soon as possible according to this.

  47. I love the yahoo ipad app. However i do have a question. I know you can phone out on the yahoo ipad app. But…What about Yahoo PHONE IN? If you have a yahoo phone IN number and pay $2.49 a month for that feature….does it work with the yahoo ipad or ipod app? I mean if someone calls you will your ipad or ipod ring and let you know? And can you check voice messages people left on your yahoo number from our ipad or ipod app? Thanks!
