You have asked and we have answered! We are happy to announce that Mobile Web Messenger now offers SMS capabilities – one of the most highly sought after features. What this means is that in addition to the usual instant messages and emoticons, you can now send text messages from Messenger to your friends’ mobile phones for free†
We have made the following updates to the latest version of Mobile Web Messenger:
- Send SMS for free to your IM friends or to any mobile numbers †
- Enhanced Searchbox allows you to look up contacts by their usernames or phone numbers in your Yahoo! Address book and IM contact list
- Easy toggle between SMS and IM conversations
Whether you have a smartphone, or standard feature phone, if you have a data plan, Mobile Web Messenger can run on your phone. No setup is required – Just enter m.yahoo.com/messenger into the mobile browser on your phone, and you’ve got Yahoo! Messenger.

Supported carriers included many Australia carriers. Why not New Zealand? They’re just a hop away! Please consider adding Vodafone NZ and Telecom NZ one day! Thank you!

Great app…just one problem… i don’t like how you can’t clear the call logs on the yahoo messenger app for the iphone so if possible please make that available as i have logs of calls made over a year ago and i no longer want them…

I primarily go to the islamic sections of the religious catagories in yahoo messenger.. I could not find them open today.. earlier they were open but majority were filled to 50 member capacity and all were bots.. total spamming the rooms.. what is happening with your site? normal people cannot get in.. you need a better monitoring system…
