  3. I’m already using it. And Yahoo Messenger works great. Even on the x64 version of Windows 7.
    Still, aero will be good.

  7. Yes, I’ve upgraded since the release!

Will Yahoo Messenger 10 upgrade for the Win7 Aero theme, Jump Lists and features? The answer’s probably NO!

    Comment by Predator7 — November 21, 2009 #

  8. Already using it. Went back to Messenger 8 as its Classic theme supports Aero while versions 9 and 10 look horrible on Windows 7.

Jumplists and some other Windows 7 features would be nice for newer versions as well!

  9. i like windows 7. Can Yahoo! make yahoo messenger only for windows 7? like for vista

    Comment by Claudiu — November 21, 2009 #

  10. Why the options are limited to windows. I for instance moved to Linux Ubuntu 9.10. I know several persons who jumped ship to Linux. Wish if Yahoo would take a look at the “big” size of linux users and start releasing its software for Linux as it does for Windows and MAC

  15. AGREE, Windows 7 is GREAT, mac is like a trying hard but still lagging behind. mac is such a LOSER.haha

I AM ALREADY USING WINDOWS 7!
hello?? yahoo can’t you even detect what os are the people using when visiting you sites??? can’t you see the traffic that windows 7 brings to your site and you can’t even pay developers to develop something groundbreaking, something that will keep your deteriorating subscribers on yahoo? please KEEP UP WITH TECHNOLOGY, WPF is the next generation, why can’t you develop somthing that is suitable and very integrated with the new windows????? windows vista has been ages ago in the market and windows 7 just improves the code of vista but still same base code which means interoperability!

    USE AERO for god’s sake!
the yahoo messenger for vista has been the last thing that you have made that “wow”ed your users, but unfortunately you discontinued its development and went back to your comfort zone! how can you evolve if you can not keep up with changes??? YAHOO G-R-O-W UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. The best op sys from microsoft!
I think yahoo messenger 11 should integrate. Right now it looks kind of ugly on windows 7. I use alternative to it because i don’t like how it looks on win7.

  24. could upgrade to W7 free, but scared to do so because Vista voice works in chatrooms now, maybe if upgrade to W7 there will be voice problems again

    Comment by galen — December 4, 2009 #

  25. galen > for the most part, the audio system in 7 is nearly identical to the one in Vista.

In fact, you can use Vista drivers in 7, because they are pretty much the same driver model.

Yahoo messenger needs Aero and Jumplist support. I no longer want it eating up space in my system tray when its pinned icon could perform all those tasks instead.

And I’m tired of it not casting a shadow, or being translucent on the window borders, or fading away when I open and close it like every other app running on my system.

  26. I am surprised that people have so much knowledge about Windows, Mac and Linux OS. Specially about the actual codes of Vista compare to Windows 7.
Clearly I can tell from my experience as a student of Computer from the last 8 years, that Windows OS is the winner. So trust the majority and go with Windows 7.

  27. I’m using and I’m very happy,I had no problems

    Comment by Nakliyeci Rehberi — December 10, 2009 #

  28. Been using it since the beta, and I’m impressed with it so far.

I hope you guys give Aero support for Yahoo! Messenger 11. It’s not that it is for eye candy, but it is for the fact that the current Y!M skins look ugly on Windows 7.
