I installed yahoo messenger on my iphone a few days ago. Unfortunately, push does not seem to work. When i'm not running the app, i do not get notified that someone has sent me an IM. I have to open the app to receive IM's which is not very useful. How can I fix this? Or isn't this feature available yet?

My son just got his new iPod touch, but he can't signed in to the Yahoo! Messenger app. When he tries he gets this message:

    Yahoo! Messenger Sign-In Problem
Failed due to an known reason.
    Please try again.

[Yes, it says "an known reason".]

He is using the correct credentials. In fact, I tried with a wrong password and the app told me it was incorrect. I can sign on with my account with no trouble, and his account won't work on my iPod, either. He can, however, log in just fine on our computers (Mac & PC) and the Yahoo! app (not messenger) on his iPod.

I tried both of his sisters' accounts, as well, and neither of them work, either. I can only deduce the problem stems from the fact that they are all Family Accounts.

I'd love to hear an explanation as to the cause of this problem. Maybe the Messenger app is confusing itself with chat (which is restricted for Family Accounts)?

Of course, I'd love even more to see this particular bug squashed. 8-)

The App is great, The only thing I think should improve is the the notification sound level, I'm talking about the one you hear (if you can hear it) when you have the app running. Some time I preffer to close the app because the Apple Notification system has a higher volume level. It should have a level setting because maybe somebody like it the way it is.

@Rich, I think thats whats wrong with mine. But honestly, this is going on more than a few days now. One minute itworks, the next it doesn't. My boyfriend in Iraq messaged me over and over and I didn't even know. I didn't get to talk to him. For that reason I hope its fixed SOON!
