microsoft and messenger are not user friendly for us MAC users , they do it on purpose , seems to me “they” cut off their nose to spite their face. Oh well it’s a war and us Mac consumers are the fodder ……sooooo smile and enjoy the fact we’re allowed to make choices to “take it, or leave it” – Viva la differance

I got a chance to read Carol’s blog on Yahoo/Microsoft deal and seems like she might be onto something. Like I was saying Yahoo should focus on their wide array of services and cross link them because there is no way they can gain much market share over google in search, she seems to be planning along the same line. She says Yahoo is going to give search engine to Microsoft so that they can focus more on other Yahoo services.

The problem with yahoo chat rooms is a chicken and egg thing. They don’t want to put any resources in it because it doesn’t make them any money, and unless they put some resources into it, they cannot make it lucrative. I am completely fine if they add some more advertising in it before fixing bugs, then once they start making some money they can start fixing bugs.

Booters aren’t the issue, as there are alternative measures to protect against them. But the bots… sheesh. Yes, there are other methods for users to “ignore” them but it’s a real pain in the behind. There are real & simple things Yahoo could implement to fix the issue but they just straight out refuse to do it.

Just get rid of the stupid CAPTCHA feature in chat because it is 110% useless against the bots.

well i tell you barnacle bill’s who whine about yahoo chat. i think that yahoo can spare alot of expense and time by just shutting chatrooms down indefinatly

we booters do not like the idea that some child molester in chatrooms waiting his chance to do his evil pedophile deeds on some poor innocent 12 yr old posing as a 31 year old.

so we think that all peeps are freaks and pervs and will continue to update booters faster than yahoo can patch them.

yahoo your wasting your time. close chat down permanently. save ur time and money. booters will get better and better as u patch them. exploits are endless.

Yahoo chat does not bring them any money because they just haven’t focused on making it lucrative. They are going after wrong things. Google is already the leader in search and people are used to use google. Hack people use the word ‘googling’ more than the word ’searching’. Why waste resources on something that you know is not going help you gain much market share.

In my opinion, yahoo should really crosslink their wide array of services to provide the users richer experience. And when they use all yahoo services more, yahoo will automatically get more advertises.

Instead of those ads at the bottom of chat rooms, they should really crosslink any chat words people type in chat rooms. If someone is talking about a movie in the chat room, that movie name is automatically underscored and when you hover mouse on it, you see showtimes, ect. Yahoo already has experimental cross linking in yahoo mail. They really need to spread this crosslinking in all of their services, something like wikipedia has. This way they can even increase hits on yahoo search. Not that many people use yahoo search webpage to look for things. But when they cross link search results in email, chat, yahoo finance message boards, ect they can dramatically increase yahoo search hits. So the idea is to make people use yahoo search indirectly. I wish I was on yahoo’s strategic planning team, I like yahoo and don’t want them to go the wrong way.

Yahoo chat Sucks with all the Booter & Bots…….Microsoft can make money from chat…….Charge a fee per month and have a room monitor to kick rude people out of the rooms.
MSN had chat rooms but they were pretty boring but with yahoo chat that will change for microsoft……Yahoo chat is has a lot of people chatting everyday i hope they reconfigure yahoo messenger so its UNbootable.
One of Bill Gates computer techs should know how to make a messenger that UNbootable not like yahoo who haven’t got a clue.

Please please do something about the clones and bots in chatrooms.I use Older and Wiser and being elderly I do not appreciate the foul language used by the clones and the bots are pests. What is the purpose of the codes? if they are designed to keep undesirables out the chatrooms ……news flash!!! they aint working.
