Hello I have gone ahead and bookmarked http://www.ymessengerblog.com/blog/2009/07/27/yahoo-messenger-on-the-new-yahoo-com-page/ at Mister-Wong so my friends can see it too. I simply used Yahoo! Messenger on the new yahoo.com page | Yahoo! Messenger Blog as the entry title in my favourite bookmark, as I figured if it is good enough for you to title your blog post that, then you probably would like to see it bookmarked the same way. I am having allot of trouble with the site – my business depends on speed. The is a delay in receiving the e-mail that are being sent by my clients. – then the site is freezing up – it can not load a page and I can not attach doc’s – are these problems because I have windows 7?

@ Ed, it doesn’t open an item as soon as you hover the mouse over it. They kept a little delay for that reason. So if you are just moving cursor through the screen, you should be fine.

If you are intentionally staying on an item thinking about it, its actually better that it pops up the item menu and gives you more info/description about it.

I’ve been a loyal YAHOO! user for a long time, but the new homepage is enough to make me consider switching to google for good. Running my mouse over an item does not mean I want it to open; I would much rather take the millisecond it takes to click on a link I want to open than for every link to expand every time my mouse rolls over it. I dare say I’m not the only one who finds this annoying. The structure of the page is fine, but that feature is infuriating.

To me they seem to be copying AOL. First they copied aol webmail and now AOL homepage. You should just take some inspiration and then be a little creative. In making yahoo mail similar to that of AOL they made it a lot slow, harder to read and buggy. Although new homepage doesn’t seem bad, but hey be a little creative, don’t copy too much.
