Address Book Errors

Some of you have left comments here on the blog about errors you’re encountering when trying to update a friend’s contact information in Yahoo! Messenger. For example, when trying to update someone’s info, you might see this error when you try to save your changes:
Error: The last address book operation did not succeed due to a server error (-40402)
As you may or may not know, Yahoo! Messenger is integrated with the Yahoo! Address Book (part of Yahoo! Mail). As a result, when they are doing any kind or maintenance, upgrades or server work, it can result in some Yahoo! Messenger users encountering errors when they try to make changes to their address book content.
Currently, the Yahoo! Address Book team is upgrading some of their servers over the next few weeks. As a result, you may occasionally run into these types of errors.
As a workaround, you can try the edit again later in Yahoo! Messenger or to make your changes right away, head over to http://address.mail.yahoo.com and make your changes directly on the Address Book site.
Again, these types of errors are usually temporary and can be worked around by making changes directly on the Address Book site. Thanks for your patience,

i have alot of problems with yahoo after you make the 9.x versions i have alot of friends in my messenger they are about 350 and i have alot of problems when some one new contact me i cant add him and cant chat with him he see me writing but nothing arrives to him i reported you alot but you never make my problem abig matter
is it better to find another service like msn?
i love yahoo but you dont answer me.

Please repair as soon as the error 40402, if you want someone to use your Yahoo Messenger. Becoming more common are problems with Yahoo Messenger, Yahoo Mail … Make changes all the time (silly, eg. the emoicons large from Yahoo Messenger 9.0.0.1389) on your servers. You actually beating the game for users of Yahoo Messenger or Yahoo Mail. What kind of company you are? One bankrupt? What a shame …
And another thing. Please do an e-mail for all complaints. I personally, I am tired of “Feedbacks” or “Contact Care”, which does not solve anything.
Eg. in my email account occurs frequently the error #14.

This fails to resolve the ongoing issue when trying to adda contact in Yahoo Messenger – a problem for which numerous help submissions have been made and there is NO RESPONSE.
“There was an error in the server while trying to add a contact. Please try again”
This is especially common when trying to add a non-US Yahoo email address, such as an “@yahoo.cn” address.
How about dealing with that detailed error message?????

Hi, I’m trying to add someone on my ym. But it always says “There was an error in the server while trying to add contact. Please try again”. I already tried hundreds of times. But that message always shows. But, when I tried adding other people it didn’t show the message. Can you please help me? Thank you.

I want toexpalin an error showed up to me when i’m trying to add some of my friends which is ((there was an error in the server while trying to add a contact. please try later )) i hope u can explain the reason behinde that as i’m waiting for resopnse from you ,and is it possible that there is an error in the yahoo mail which refers to the contact i have recieved !!

Address book errors is very risky, it makes my work extend for a several hour. Or the worst is.. we’ll see. ahm this is what other expected to yahoo.

on the latest version of yahoo instant messenger 11, new contacts add me but when I accept them they automatically been added on my address book! they can see me online but i can’t see them online, can you fix this problem ASAP as i need this yahoo messenger for work!
actually I did created 6 accounts already and the same problem still occurs, so I’m hoping for an immediate response to this problem.
