I’d vote for ya if you removed the completely useless CAPTCHA from chat rooms. I mean really… it does absolutely nothing to prevent bots from entering. There needs to be some sort of other verification to enter chat rooms. Maybe something like having a unique code sent to the users email address that they have to input before entering a room. Sounds like a winner to me.
If no one at YAhoo is going to fix the bot issue once and for all, you may as well just get rid of the rooms altogether. There’s usually what… maybe 10 real people at the absolute MAX out of 50 in a room.

Actually, Yahoo Messenger is passable at best. It’s worth a little more than what I pay for it.
With this new version, windows always open minimised or so small they have to be enlarged. The notifications come up under the Start bar.
And, after half a decade of using it, double-clicking the system tray Icon for new mail notification always selects the icon next to it as well.
This is the first time I’ve ever found a place where I can even express all of this. Any problem reporting facility requires about five screens of FAQs and help messages.

Yahoo is the best IM client however it would be nice to remove the ads at the bottom of the list. I really do not appreciate being forced to watch ads each time I take a look at the contact list.
One other think I’ve noticed lately, YM tends to take a lot of resources. This should also be kept in mind for future releases.

I have had yahoo since 5th grade and now I’m a senior in high school. Yahoo is the over all the best messenger because all of my friends are on yahoo and MSN and MSN connects to yahoo as yahoo connects to MSN no other IM does that.

Y!M is neat, its biggest drawback is that not many people use it. 90% of my contactlist are MSN users. I wish the support for inter-program usage was bigger. It sometimes works like pigeon mail – some messages are delivered, some are not and users never know about it. MSN users constantly get notices that their messages aren’t delivered, though they are. YIM side gets no notices at all, though apparently not all their messages pass through.
I wish I was able to see my MSN friends’ avatars and would jump with joy if I could voice-talk them.

Yahoo! Messenger is by far the greatest messenger ever. I’ve used it for years now, it was my first ever IM experience, and consistently gets better and better. I love it so much, and am always so happy to login to see that Yahoo! smiley face. Me and all my friends use it almost daily. Thanks so much for making Yahoo! Yahoo has always been my number one favorite messenger service. I don’t even use anything else anymore. If someone wants to talk to me on messenger, I make them get a yahoo account, but I do agree with the bots in the chatrooms. They need to go. I don’t even chat anymore because it has become such a problem. I used to be able to meet some pretty kewl people.

yahoo is a very kool application, it has a lot of features incorporate that makes using application is to use. as do all applications there are the pro’s and con’s to yahoo that i think need immediate attention.
1. is security, this has to do with booting, that is activity is carried out by persons who seeks to be disruptive, and this has been going for years now, yahoo should have already made adjustments to it’s chat rooms and IM features to stop this. i personally have been booted even though i was not in a chat room. this is very dangerous to privacy and sensitive materials on personal computers. if the script of the programme can be manipulated so easily.
2. I am left with no other assumption but to think yahoo is working with “Bot” are person who fire commercials in these rooms and even when your not in a room. the next thing i observed is how readily these bot’s commercials are geared towards things you desire and need.. which some how tells me there is a breech to privacy, take for instance Google who is now under spot lite for invading public use of goggle search engine by monitoring persons search preference and forwarding these persons towards retailers of product so each time you search you are refined to exactly a store near you are something call it unique technology but it’s and invasion of privacy . think about if you were looking at porn” Google would forward porn sites top your browser engine because it thought are assumed your a porn addict are you love porn.
3. Video conversations on yahoo is great but too slow and servers becomes busy easily, that’s something that should be sorted out a long time ago. next it would be much better and friendlier if the camera windows were incorporated in the chat window as does windows messenger. the upper edge yahoo chat has over windows messenger is that many persons can view your cam at the same time. they need to capitalize on this. great feature, make it better please. and also they need to incorporate free sms in the chat features as does windows messenger, which is a great feature in windows messenger you can click and send a message to a friend although they are off line. to sms.
4. yahoo needs to have a real complaint site. not a dummy one that does not work. as many people feel. ever try to report a booting are virus ? trust me your complaint is left on deaf ears. yahoo needs to appoint real admins in there chat rooms that have the power to officially boot persons who causes trouble. and send viruses and such things. these persons can be selected by there overall use of all of yahoo features not just chat room, which many persons use but not the mail and other features. so well rounded person will get a set of rules and regulations to abide by. and then will be pointed by agreeing to the terms of administrator.
i would select yahoo as a great messenger programme but i would have to neglect the security problems users face daily. and constant spamming. windows messenger is much safer, but doe snot have a chat room which is great feature yahoo still supports. windows messenger still have virus problems also. so i would vote for both application 50/50 with room to improve both.

Let me start by saying that yahoo is a good messenger to use when it comes to talking to your friends and loved ones no matter where they reside. Although I have been a user of yahoo for a good many years I have noticed some problems with talking on yahoo messenger. First of all the voice quality of talking to someone on the mic could be better because there is a lot of background noises that could be heard. Another thing would be that sometimes it drops the call without even ending it. I would get disconnected for no apparent reason. Overall I would say that the other features of yahoo messenger are pretty good and I like that its simple to use when it comes to adding contacts or going to chat rooms.
Finally, I would like to add that because of yahoo I ended up meeting my husband. That is always going to be one good memory of yahoo that I will always treasure.
I can’t really hate yahoo, but I would say that they could change their voice quality of messenger to be better. Other than that I must say that its a great messenger and people should use it.
