When the menu appears, select "Delete". A window will pop up asking if you're sure you want to delete them. In that window is a checkbox that by default is unchecked; if you do want the contact eliminated completely from your address book, check the box before you click Yes. Otherwise, deleting the contact just removes them from your list, not from your Yahoo! Address Book.
