Same issues; they stopped support for Messenger for OSX 10.3.9, which used to work great, so I had to upgrade to a new system for my new ipod Classic (anybody see a pattern here?), and I bought Leopard. SO far it crashes when you even touch the Yahoo Beta 3 icon. And most other things too. This Leopard release is a piece of garbage, and I think Apple is slitting its own throat by cutting off support for things like new ipods on older OSX systems. I can run itunes on my OLD pc in XP and it's fine. I guess Apple doesn't care if we all switch to pc. You've been warned Apple. Yahoo's move to not support old systems is next in line. And their attempt at making a Leopard compatible Messenger is sad. I'll find another way to chat...Facebook perhaps?

I like the latest version of this YM. I had also use it so many times on my macbook. But I don't really know why whether I had the wrong setting or not, my YM is no longer be able to connect to the 'chat server' (the pop up message said that). But the web messenger still works fine on my browser.

Anyone can help?

the new version worked well only for a few days. now it's crashing again and it's really frustrating. although i'm available, my friends keep seeing me as offline/invisible. and if i try to use the stealth settings, it won't even work. im also having issues in transferring file and setting my fonts.

hope this issues will be fixed immediately. the sooner the better.

My built in isight camera will not work with yahoo messenger. I have tried changing the settings, but that doesn't seem to help.

I have been using the latest version (3.0) beta, but the problem still exists, my system freezes in a certain period of time and my friends will get a broken file that I've successfully sent to them. Hope there will be a final fix for this bug, can't wait for it.

I have the same problem with YIM sort of connecting, but not quite, and just sitting there spinning all day long. I haven't changed or upgraded anything, but this just started happening mysteriously on or around Jan 1st 2009.

I can log in just fine using the web version, or on a PC. I can log in on the machine in question using a secondary account just fine, so it seems it is some sort of issue with my primary account.

This is incredibly frustrating... but of course Yahoo treats Mac users like secondary citizens, so it'll probably take them a couple of years to come out with a fix.

I have the same issue as mona above, it only happened ironically January 1st onwards and has never happened before that. Temporary workaround for this issue is when I select Connect Behind Firewall.

Any suggestions on this please?

I have all problems as described above. I recently upgraded to the new MacBook Pro with Leopard OS 10.5.5. I've downloaded latest YM app and each and every time I login, my wheel just spins and spins and spins... I can see that I've logged into my acct b/c messages from friends will appear in a separate window but I can not click on any of them. The only way to get out of the application is to force quit.

I also used YM on my older G4 Powerbook with Mac OS 10.4.9. I had the same problem on that one EXCEPT that after approximately 5-15 mins. the wheel would stop spinning and the application would load in just fine and I was able to chat. (The camera situation was always hit or miss).

Unfortunately now with my new MacBook Pro, it will not load in at all. I let it sit for nearly an hour and still just had the spinning wheel. Very frustrating indeed.

Any ideas, suggestions, thoughts????
