7. still hungry for memory, the delay in conversation windows still exists…. and i’m running on a core 2 duo, 2 gb of RAM, a 256 mb video card etc. will this be fixed? it’s a shame.. but i hope this will be fixed with the next releases.

9. I gonna mention it again…downloaded the nice new, pretty Vista Messenger…but when the heck is Yahoo going to fix the sort of accompanying Yahoo Member Directory Advanced Search feature? It just seems amazing that many users’ daily complaints and reports about this shared problem have been unaddressed, ignored, and not fixed. How can Yahoo not acknowledge it on the site’s main page, let alone not have repaired it — possibly purposely so? — by now?? Thanks.

11. Why is it so hard put chat into this? been around for sometime in other programs why not in vista messenger yet ?lol most people use yahoo go to some type of chat room ! So do think can add it sometime soon i like to use it but not way it is now !

12. I installed the new Yahoo Messenger for Vista and while it is pretty, i finally had to uninstall it because it was causing too many issues with my computer. So far i feel that it…like Vista needs a lot of work!

17. Hey guys, did you change your designers team? Because i’m sorry to say this, Yahoo messenger is cool but it’s so ugly, mainly vista releases. Dark pink with dark green with bold stufffff…. I have system errors in my eyes when i see this.
    Seriously, I know and I swear you are very good developers, but you can’t do everything on your own. think hiring new designers to design Yahoo messenger.

18. Ok, I’m a older version user who’s noticed a lot of problems using the Conference function with Vista users… I’m not sure if this is an old issue or a new one, but this is MORE than frustrating! We can’t share files without issues, we can’t conference, and I can only point it to being Vista itself, or YIM Vista… If nothing else, there should be a roll-back option for YIM that’s easily located!

    If anyone has figured this mess out, PLEASE repost here!

26. Yahoo has a reputation for not really listening to the public as far as i know, they’d sooner read comments they like then be bothered with extra work by doing things we actually want and need. They’re falling to the bottom compared to other messengers with AIM’s new fantastic user interface and MSN’s sleek interface and easy to control contact list. If they were actually competing I think that AIM and MSN would win. Yahoo may have chat, but the chat isnt that great so its just pointless it doesn’t give them any leverage.

29. Am unable to find a way to change the way my contacts are displayed…currently they show their yahoo id instead of their name. This appeared to happen after Yahoo for Vista hung “trying to build contact list”. Thanks.

Yeah just wonder why my post where delete when speak nothing but the truth and facts ! errors and things not been fixed with new builds that for sure have been posted !you say want feed back and so on but when someone post the truth then you seem to delete there post !all i was trying to say was simple that versions of messengers able to use for chat rooms don’t work well with vista ! maybe should post a error page so issues can be fixed along with new stuff put into yahoo messenger !Yahoo messenger been pretty good on xp windows i like to see the same happen with vista messenger !

39. The group working on Yahoo Messenger for Vista need to stop working on the fancy designing and focus on fixing common errors, like when you try to exit the program, and it pops up Yahoo has caused an error.or the fact it doesn’t remember your password, even when you have it set to remember it.

42. The next version of Windows, Windows 7, will be out before Yahoo Messenger for Vista gets finished. I hope Yahoo makes a messenger specifically for that Windows version also!

43. How long is it going to take for the webcam function to be put in this messenger? The only other thing that i see that needs to be allowed is the ability to add your own personal audio waves when getting buzzed, or when you get a email , ect. The yahoo messenger for xp has it but not the vista messenger. The only sounds provided with this messenger suck. Its nice to have the ability to add and control all functions like the previous version of yahoo for xp and before. It just puzzles me that this messenger has been out almost 1 1/2 years and its still beta.

    Yahoo! Messenger for Vista does not yet support webcam. From the post above:

    “A lot of our feedback has been from users asking for webcam support or users that look for the webcam feature but can’t find it in the product. Currently, we don’t have webcam support in Yahoo! Messenger for Vista but to shorten our users’ search for it, we added a webcam menu item. Those not in-the-know will get a message telling them that webcam support is coming soon.”

50. Hi, I would like to request the addition of chat room access in the next build for Vista Messenger. Also I would also like to make a convenience request that with the current option to sign in as invisible, one could have the option to be available to one friend on the friends list like in the other Windows builds. As of now the only way to do this is to individually click on each user and stealth offline instead of the other way around.

56. I am an avid chatter. It is so infuriating not being able to use voice or even the actual vista messenger. I understand these things take time to fix, but you’ve come out with how many versions since the vista os has come out? Please fix this soon… I am to the point where i want to just uninstall yahoo altogether, since i use it primarily for chatting, but cant do so right now! I cant fathom why it is so hard to incorporate chat into the vista messenger when you’ve offered this service for so long, you must know a thing or two about it. I agree with the others when i say, while this messenger is the prettiest, i will not be using it until you incorporate the chat/conference idea into it.

58. Its been 2 months since the last update. Since then a big fat Zero. We have had no feedback or news on future updates or estimates on release. It is like we, your loyal supporters are being ignored by the mighty Yahoo corporation. As mentioned above 99% of all new PC’s come with vista so it is here to stay. You are losing ur followers, I’m thinking of going to MS Live Messenger, at least my webcam will work!!!!

63. Why does Yahoo Messenger 9.0 for Vista not connect behind a proxy ?
    Heck, I installed it, set my proxy and when I click on ‘Sign In” , it sits there like a dumb buffalo.
    Nothing, absolutely nothing happens.
    Any pointers ? Is going back to version 8.1 the only option ?
    Sigh !!!!!! when will they ever learn ?

    For what,i ask you?!…..oh that’s right..WindowsXP!!!…Do you people at Yahoo realize that(and i know you do),even though XP is still a stable OS,WinVista is,at the moment,THE most installed OS on damn near every PC/Lap-top on the market,yet you continue to palm us off with ‘Yahoo Messenger Updates’….Eh,yeah..FOR XP!!!…Do we receive any updates for YMVista(thats been in ‘Beta’ mode for nigh on 1 and a half years,i may add)….No,we do not,just the same old ‘Those not-in-the-know will get a message’ clap-trap!! Well here’s an ‘Update’ for you,Yahoo,we ARE those who SHOULD be in the know,not the stable-hands AFTER the horse has bolted!.
    What are you up to,Yahoo,is it that you’re hoping Windows next ‘creation’ has less bugs and errors than Vista or maybe,just maybe,you’re thinking of a ‘Pay-as you-go’ set-up??
    I’ll not excuse my tone in this comment or my suspicions,you,time and time again,fob us off with this ‘Wait & See’ attitude,that only infuriates those long-term & new users of your ’service’
    I’ve been a member of Yahoo since 2001,linking me with hundreds of new friends,all over the world,one of which later became my girlfriend(for that fact,i thank you)but as for the countless members,who over the years have enjoyed International chat,Voice & Cam,most of us have upgraded(fools that we are)to Vista,they & i are left to wonder..Do we stay with Yahoo or do we,as i see some comments above state,leave this ‘Ol’ Donkey’ and have too stick to WinLive Messenger (which on a 1 to 10 scale of user-friendliness,Cam & Voice,has Yahoo beaten into a cocked-hat).So,Yahoo,the ball’s in your court,we the ‘Vista USERS’ are waiting…..and we’re waiting for your ’service…Match Point,Guys & Gals!!!!

66. The new Yahoo Messenger for Vista is a lame attempt to piggyback on the ‘look and feel’ and ultimate popularity of the sexy Apple iPhone. Unfortunately, YM falls well below expectation when it comes to functionality. Yahoo! for Vista fewer customizable preferences available. No chat rooms. No emoticons. No Audibles. No IM Environments. No ability to create your own status message. No access to Launchcast. I could go on or you could simply look for a feature you regularly use to see for yourself it isn’t included. What a joke, this ‘update’ should be considered a ‘throwback’ to bare bones software that existed before the masses logged in to the internet. After over 6 years of using Yahoo as my primary chat application I am switching to the more versatile AIM / Google / WM. Somebody really dropped the ball on this one, guys …

Yeah PASTORREX,We(all Vista users)will go d/load 9.0 Non-Beta(which i d/ld’d and it subsequently UN-INSTALLED itself,why,you may ask??…because i had YMVista installed!!) and this thread & the complaints,therein will vanish…..The main point of our rants,mate,is so Yahoo Inc. get the message and understand how WE feel,as i have said in a previous comment,this ‘Beta’ YMVista has been in ‘development’ and i use that term loosely,btw,for nearly 2 years and still there is no full program,i’d also like to commend Liz on her comment (September 28th 2008) and quote from it:-

73. GEEZE! when will Yahoo! update Vista again… How hard can it be! Vista is still in BETA after so many years…Yahoo!’s team for Vista is really slow!

    All I have to say is.. that I will star to use YM Vista once the add the functional Webcam feature and the Message Archiver feature…

    And I wonder how long will that take? Probably another year?
