Wow, this conversation has died in the last three months. To tell the truth, I have YIM for Vista but I don't run it at all. It's just too lacking. It doesn't even have archives, for cryin' out loud. Archive ability is what YIM the leader in online messaging. Yahoo archives are the cleanest, neatest, most organized in the industry. They're even broken out by user, conversation type, and date. When I came to Yahoo, that was the feature that really drew me in to stay. I had a busy life at the time, balancing work, school, and friends, and they allowed me to carry on a conversation without having to actively remember what it was about or what had already been said. I could just look it up. Plus, archives in YIM are encrypted and locked, so nobody can read them without your user ID and password and a live internet connection to sign in. But, I got off on a tangent. The Vista version is seriously lacking in features and is a resource hog. The developers need to reign the beast in and saddle it with the features we love.

Overall I do like the Vista version of YIM, and yes I understand that it's still in beta form. Is there a target for a final release, or is the program in an open ended state of perpetual development?

While I like the program, have to echo the previous comments about performance or lack therof. I run a celeron cpu with 2g ram and the lag is intolerable after a short period of time. So much so I switch back to 9 for everyday use. Looking forward to the next refresh.

I like it! i really like how everything is smoth and it sorta flows instead of just popping up, like the colour swatch thing with all the colors at different angles. I'm guessing that there will be more colors in the final verson of it, because i like orange! I also agree with the one previous poster that said that it would be slow on other computers, my comptuer is very fast, top of the line, so it has no problems with it, but on a cheaper computer it would probably be slower. :( However, i love the design and i love how you can change the size and detail of your messenger list. Something i dont' like however, is that when i click to look at the emodicons they are HUGE and they look sorta bad and off balance the sleekness of the messenger.

I love Yahoo, and I love Messenger, PLEASE resolve the performance issues in the Vista version of the product so that it's usable. Uninstalled and replaced with v9 until then.

And please don't sellout to MS, otherwise all hope will be dead.
