I restarted Windows and ran Y!M, and now there's a great deal of graphical errors. The alpha masks behind overlaid objects render incorrectly, often offset by about 10px to the right, making it appear that shadows are skewed, stretched, and often times in the wrong place. The color-picker control is completely broken. Aside from that, the hotfix does, actually, improve performance of the app. I'm going to first try uninstalling and reinstalling Y!M.
