I am so glad to finally see this in an official Yahoo! blog. You would not believe the number of times I have had to explain the legalities of recording calls to people on Yahoo Messenger. Too many people don't understand that YES it is perfectly legal to record a telephone call or other conversation regardless of if it is on Yahoo! Messenger or on a regular telephone line or even in person.

Business has been doing it for years and they dont always tell you they are recording because frankly they are not required to and lets face it recording conversations has such a bad feeling surrounding it that most people don't want it done.

Personally I just use "Nero Wave Editor" and save the recorded file with the desired settings when I am done, but then again I am a techie type so it just seemed natural for me to use what I already had available on the system.

Thanks for sharing this with everyone its long since been past due as far as I am concerned.

I request Yahoo! to add that feature in their IM. I'd love to use it if it were provided by Yahoo!. I can't just trust other 3rd party softwares. Not that I need it to use it to record something other than my chat with my 3 year old niece. Please!

They record yahoo, aim and every other messenger. it's also capable of recording not just calls but actual chatrooms as well. or text to speech like someone who may have speech problems but wishes to speak vs type, they can type stuff out and the software translates it to words and transmits for them.
