I am trying to download the windows vista version it doesn't work on my windows vista 64 bit. I even turn off my firewall still doesn't work.I think I will never have a yahoo messenger on my computer with my windows vista 64 bit, so I just use the webmessengeryahoo.com to chat and it work fine but less features is okay I don't use other feature that has on yahoo messenger most the time important is I could chat.

For those curious, this is the Vista 32-bit version patched to run on Vista x64. It is not a 64 bit app.

Yahoo.Messenger.YmApp has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. WHATS THE DEAL????

so when is yahoo gonna release a beta vs. or a real vs. of this app. instead of all the bloatwhere and stupid add ons? I don't recall Yahoo anoucing all of the extra crap where at last years ces show. Why don't u put an effort into building a solid app. (fondation). Then build the bloatwhere/ useless aps. If you don't have a good app what good is the bloatwhere/mindless add ons. Seems a little stupid to me. I guess that is why yahoo messenger blows so much

I installed this version however in task manager it shows *32, I understand this to mean its not native 64 bit application.... Can anyone clarify is this a 64 bit application or as previously asked a 32 bit application that can run on 64 bit vista?

@Al Iguana
I think you misunderstood me.. when I said messenger froze my sistem I clearly stated that is was the "normal" yahoo messenger.. not this one.. It is true I have been using it for several months without issues but some idiot had to voice conference me and so my sistem froze.. So that is why I asked when the 64bit Vista version will be released because I knew its still beta.. meanwhile I installed it the other day and its working ok .. and the voice conference function is not even there so I dont have to worry about that happening again.. anyways.. good luck
