That's a nice offer but unfortunately other Telecom companies such as G3 Telecom in particular (www.g3telecom.com) have offered a much better deal for calling India during Diwali. I saw on their website that they offered 1¢ per minute to call India. Also, customers claim that their service is great.

4.9 US cents to India is way too expensive. And the voice quality of Yahoo! Voice out is way too bad. Yahoo! needs to improve a lot on this front because there are way better options available.

I want to appreciate Yahoo for the offer(along with Nirav's comments above)
At the same time the very first comment's words holds good,
I am the user of
1) Reliance India Call (Phone to Phone - Very High quality)
2) Airtel Call Home(Phone to Phone - High quality)
3) Yahoo International Call (PC- To - Phone - low quality)

Right now I am paying 4.9 cents per miute for Reliance and Airtel(paid $200 bulk for each and got double talk time). I tried Yahoo India call as well. Comared to the reliance and Airtel, yahoo quality is poor, I dont know how come Yahoo think of bagging the $$ by competing with other class of competitors in phone services. Yahoo, please re-think of your prices, You must provide the calls either for Free for some time or for dead low prices to attract the crowd with your limitations like PC to Phone, less quality calls etc..
Just my opinion by comparing all the three above services.
But in any event, I am a very big fan of Yahoo, for years..

Aha, so we could call your tech support for 4.9C then instead of paying for that support contract you offer for a lot more - what's the direct dial to your support staff?

Hi Al,

Yes, we do offer PC to Phone in these international versions:

Singapore (http://sg.voice.yahoo.com)
France (http://fr.voice.yahoo.com)
Germany (http://de.voice.yahoo.com)
Spain (http://es.voice.yahoo.com)
Italy (http://it.voice.yahoo.com)

However the 4.9 cent rate only applies to calls to India made from the U.S. version during the promotion period. The other versions do have the everyday low rate of 7.9 cents a minute on calls to India. Thanks,

It is indeed heartening to see global giants like Yahoo! Inc recognizing the Indian Festival of Lights and offering promotional offers during the festival ! Hope that it helps Yahoo! Messenger users abroad to get in touch with their loved ones in India..

Cheers..
