THE keyboard shortcut

One of the handiest shortcuts in Yahoo! Messenger 8.1 is the Windows + y key combination. When you use it, it brings up your Yahoo! Messenger window with the cursor in the contact search box, no matter what you’re doing on your computer. From there you can quickly start a message by typing in someone’s ID, phone number, or just type their name to find them in your list.
If the Windows + Y shortcut doesn’t work for you, make sure that it’s enabled in your Yahoo! Messenger preferences. Go to the Messenger menu, select “Preferences”, and then choose the “General” category. Be sure the box is checked next to “Open Messenger & start a conversation when I press Windows + Y”.
If you’re a Yahoo! Messenger for Mac user, there’s a similar handy shortcut but it requires that you be in the Yahoo! Messenger program at the time. Use the Command + n keyboard combination to open up a small search box that accesses your contact list. Type in a friend’s ID or name to find them in your list and start a new message. Or type in a friend’s mobile phone number to send them a text message (SMS).

btw, i also need one more thing
. lets say we have an image on my pc. if i’d like to send it via ym to my friends..in a single shot..is there a way?

You can use file transfer and/or photo sharing in Messenger 8.1 to send pictures to a friend.

thanks admin. i should have been more clear. i meant ‘friends’ plural. meaning more than 1. with out doing a conference.

There are so many more useful short cuts to use that make navigating around messenger fast and easy.
Ctrl + H - Toggle between online friends and offline friends on your friends list.
Ctrl + D - Signs you out of Yahoo
Ctrl + Q - Closes Yahoo Messenger
Ctrl + M - To send a PM
Ctrl + L - Call a computer
Ctrl + K - Call a phone number
Ctrl + T - Send SMS
Ctrl + Y - Send an email
Ctrl + Sift + F8 - Shows your display image
Ctrl + Sift + P - Opens Preferences
Ctrl + Sift + D - Signs you into mobile device
Ctrl + Sift + A - Add a Contact
Of course there’s more, but these are the most commonly used ones.

I’m live in VietNam and I want to have my status in VietNamese language. But YM 8.1 could not help me solve this problem. Can you show me how to write a new status with my language. Thank you for your attending!

You should upgrade to the new Beta which is unicode compliant. There is even a version in Vietnamese. Here are the links:

CAN YOU PLEASE BRING BACK THESE OLD OPTIONS:
1.SAVING OF OFFLINE MESSAGES…
2.ALLOWING US TO BE ABLE TO BE LOGGED IN ON MORE THEN ONE DEVICE- AND
3.AUTOMATICALLY BE ABLE TO HAVE MULTI MESSENGER. (MULTI ACCOUNTS AND MULTI INSTANCES OF THE SINGLE ACCT)
4. BRING BACK THE VERSION 1.0 OF YAHOO GO! OR AT LEAST ADD YAHOO MESSENGER AND MSN MESSENGER
There is NO way to sign out of yahoo GO and it is discouraging!
i REMEMBER LONG AGO– all of these options existed and i totally appreciated all of these options.
I AM ON THE YAHOO ANSWER BOARDS EVERYDAY FOR MANY MANY HOURS..AND I CANNOT TELL YOU THE AMOUNT OF TIMES- THESE 3 QUESTIONS COME UP…

У меня такой вопрос,кто что интересное подскажет буду признателен.
Мы с друзьями собираемся поехать в круиз по просторам России и ближнего зарубежья месяца на два на своих машинах,но не как не можем согласовать маршрут,если у кого уже был опыт такого путешествия,может,что посоветуете.Девчонок с собой не берем,думаем,что во все городах России с этим не будет проблем,если у кого будут рекомендации и в вопросе отдыха с девушками тоже буду признателен.
