Unlike you they're respectable and treat their customers well from what I and others have seen and heard. They don't sit around badmouthing people and focus on problem solving when Yahoo doesn't have a grip yet. Their software speaks for itself, 'nuff said! A perfect example is how they put a complete end to voice lags. Yahoo avoided the issue for years and other programmers failed to come up with a solution but those guys not only stopped it completely but they did it in a way that nobody else had even considered. You might read what they say on their website forum and about their research and technology. If it weren't for people like them you'd be sitting in chat crying when someone voice lagged your computer causing it to freeze up while your sound card settings get puked on. Don't hate what you can't understand or appreciate. Tom they did no such thing so quit with the misinformation already you fool. Those guys seem to know what to do in practically any situation. Hire a team of real professionals who don't mind cleaning up your mess. It should run fine in user mode and not ask for updates as often as it does now. I don't understand why Yahoo Updater needs admin access to check for an update. It would make more sense to tell the user that "There is an update available. Do you want to install it now?" and display the shield by the "Yes" button. That would be properly UAC-ish. :) Just my two cents. The Vista IM client shouldn’t be touching the kernel at all. It should run fine in user mode and not ask for updates as often as it does now. I would like to know if this is why the Beta has been delayed. If you have a reason please send me a message to my inbox thanks. I am pretty sure there is somebody who is wise out there who does want a job for your company. This is the Administrator of BetaCorner. I would like to know if this is why the Beta has been delayed. Or pretty much anything detailed about maitenance. So no matter how much people complain or bitch (even flood 10000 messages) you wont get any info from them. So Ill just post what my commentary and thoughts are: With so many apparent senior positions relating to messenger now vacant it doesnt bode well for this or yahoo chat services at all. If they dont fill the spots than you can pretty much say goodbye to those services as their a drain on the bottom line and no one wants to do them at the high levels of yahell. They dont care about customers as chances are they can just replace them. Vista and mac clients Mac: Chances are they have some kind of framework for mac out as seen by the poll they just cant get the "partner" yet for ads (like a previous poster said) and until they do I wouldn't expect a mac client. Vista is too heavy handed in security and probably blacklists yahoo messenger out of MS's attempt at monopolizing things again as well as denying real kernal access to actually make YiM work right. Dont expect it anytime soon till that mess is cleared up. Simple answers when voices are silenced.... Yahoo has an obvious corporate policy not to give status updates to the public. You have to be on the brink of a release.. Dont forget, Mac users are growing by the day, the numbers are increasing.. SOOO if lots of Mac users arent happy with your software, they wont use it, and they will choose other software that doesnt display the Yahoo ads.. therefore... No Mac version = less ad revenue for Yahoo... I guess if yahoo wants to keep losing money, thats fine.. but I'm sure i speak for the whole Yahoo using Mac community when I say.. Just let us know!! One would figure that their sever lack of progress was enough to tell them that. Still, better late than never, so I applaud Yahoo! for finally doing something to get their service in order.
