Hi,

I thought I’d try signing in yahoo messenger on my mobile for the first time the other day so before I logged off i chose the option “Always sign in to my mobile device when I exit Messenger”. Now I cant sign back into messenger on my computer. Everytime I try to open it nothing happens. I need to use it urgently and I dont know what I can do. Im thinking I need to sign out on my mobile but don’t know how to do this.

@Lesley – At this time, I do not know of any plans to add UK carriers to our SMS feature.

@Mine,

You need to turn off the preference in Yahoo! Messenger to sign you out to mobile every time. Look at the steps on this page but be sure the box is unchecked in your Messenger preferences:

Hello!

I’m just curious, what’s the difference between “I’m on SMS” and “I’m mobile”? Because both status are appearing on my Y!messenger..I mean some of my friends have the “I’m on SMS” stat, while others do have the other one.

Hi Howard,

Whenever you access Yahoo! Messenger from a mobile device, your status will always appear as “I’m mobile” to your friends. There is no way to customize that message. When your friends go to write you an IM, they will see a notice in their IM window that alerts them to you being mobile and that their message will be sent as a SMS text message to your phone. So if you’re concerned about your friends realizing that you’re on your phone and getting SMS, they will be aware due to the messaging in the product when they’re IM’ing you.

hi!

i want to ask about what is the difference between appearing with a status of I’m on SMS and I’m mobile in yahoo messenger?

because when the first time i tried to sign in to my phone, i tried to look at what’s appearing after my name on messenger. i signed in my sisters account and look for my status! but it appeared i’m mobile, and i’m mobile was not what i want to appear as my status, i want i’m on sms just like what is appearing after my friends name on my messenger list everytime they sign out…can you please answer my questions… i just wanted to sign in as i’m on sms…can you teach me how?
